My friend Liz has an AMAZING testimony that she recently shared. I love this Sister-in-Christ and love the testimony the Lord has been able to give her - of the love of the Lord pulling her through her darkest times and bringing miraculous (supernatural) truth and healing to those she is sent to. Please read, … Continue reading Friend’s Amazing Testimony of Love – “Africa, Hope, and Dirt”
After my recent post "Choose - American Loyalty or Loyalty to God (4th of July Edition), (CLICK HERE FOR LINK), a friend of mine asked me three questions that I found to be thought-provoking and important to address: -Have you renounced your citizenship to the US? -If one is reading between the lines, he may say that you believe it is sinful to pay taxes. Is that accurate? -Once Israel became a nation with a King, under Saul, they were no longer a theocracy. Should the Israelite army have refused to fight until the king renounced his throne and insisted on a return to theocracy? If you have not already read my previous post, you may want to do so first as it will give you a foundation for this posting (CLICK HERE). I hope that you will find my response to my friend's questions to be of value as you pursue the Kingdom of God.
Tomorrow is the July 4th - the American holiday of national pride with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill and fireworks. Many Christians today in America celebrate this holiday - but what does the Word of God say about citizenship, national pride, and following the customs of the nations of this world?
In today's world culture, homosexuality and lesbianism are "hot buttons" that can tear apart relationships and create division. There are many "Christian" sources that claim the Lord will judge all that are not heterosexual with fire and eternal damnation. Instead of allowing ourselves to fall into confusion or ignorance of the truth, let us examine the Word of God to understand what the Lord says of the issue, and then change the way we view others who may be gay or lesbian or bisexual in a different light - so that we may love them, just as the Lord loves them - for they are also made in the image of God....
If we, as believers and disciples, choose to make excuses for not following Christ’s words and the Lord’s commands to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and bring those that are poor and cast out into our homes, then we are prioritizing our own understanding, our house, our stuff, and our families ahead of the Lord and following Him. If you claim to be a follower of Christ, then do the good works commanded of you so that we may, as the body of Christ, be the light unto the world. We are not called as believers or disciples to mince the words of Christ or to pick and choose which commands we wish to follow, but rather to uphold them and obey them. Follow and obey Him always; even if you have a spouse or children, or your family ends up despising you or rejecting you, or others say you are foolish, or someone steals from you - always obey Christ and his commands.
Contrary to popular belief, polygamy is not a sin in Scripture. In the Bible, the Lord shows us three approved lifestyle choices for a man to have (in terms of his relationship with women): singleness, monogamous, or polygamous. In both the Old and New Testament, the Lord approves of all three of these types of lifestyles for men to have. It is not evil or wrong in the eyes of the Lord to be single, to be monogamous, or to be polygamous.
